Wim Hupperetz (1966) studied Ancient History and Provincial Roman Archaeology at Radboud University; in 2004 he defended his PhD thesis on a multidisciplinary research on The memory of a street at the Tilburg University. He was curator in the Limburgs Museum for 16 years. He worked for one year at the Netherlands Institute for Heritage as programme manager Heritage and Cultural Landscape and Urban Environment. In 2009 he became director of the Allard Pierson Museum, the archaeological museum of the University of Amsterdam. He published on Roman archaeology, medieval and early modern pottery and material culture, museology and heritage studies.
