He is Professor of Medieval Studies at Central European University and Loránd Eötvös University in Budapest, Hungary. His research focuses on the historical anthropology of medieval and early modern European popular religion (sainthood, beliefs in miracles, healing, magic, witchcraft) with a comparative approach.
