Antoine Franzini is Research Affiliate at the Unity of Comparative Analysis of Powers of the University of Marne la Vallée – Paris Est. His main research interest is social, political and cultural history of Corsica in the Middle Ages as part of the Italian World. Based on the correspondance between two clerics in a Corsican village, his last work highlights the role of virtue and refinement, and especially of the growing effeminacy of men, in the political commitments of the French Revolution, that is, the passage from the intimate to the political.
